Grooving, live looping, synth layering drum machine goodness. The smooth and infectious beat of these Brisbane cats will entrance the jivest of turkeys in toe tapping electro-rhythmic appreciation.

Elaborating somewhat, the funky two piece act explain; ‘The way we get our sound is unique, despite looking complex. It allows simple ideas to be expanded harmonically, rhythmically and sonically or filtered and crushed to bits. Using high quality keyboards and drum machines isn’t the same as real instruments we know, but it gives us excellent playability and very good control over sound, which is interesting to shape.’

In the spirit of Creative collaboration, visualist and video technologistador Jaymis Loveday will have us seeing sound; teaming up with The Frollix to create an experiential collage of animation and live visuals to captivate and amaze.

Jaymis is a video director, visualist and founding editor of Create Digital Motion (http://createdigitalmotion.com), a blog for people on the frighteningly geeky edge of live video and video production. As the visualist member of Bobby Flynn and the Omega Three, he spent a year touring and performing all around Australia.

He’s also director of Oxygen Kiosk (http://oxygenkiosk.com), a boutique web design agency with branches in Brisbane and Sydney and clients around the world.

In case you hadn’t come to the conclusion yourself:

This is sure to be an awesome ambient musical mash-up!

You know what it’s like, You’ll be at a function chatting to some interesting people, totally satisfied with the musical offerings surrounding you, then you hear something and your attention is instantly taken away. This is what happens at Creative Drinks every time Dirty Mex (Denis Maravilla) is there.Hence, we keep asking Denis back to Creative Drinks. We recently asked Denis for an up close and personal journey into his musical talents.
Growing up in Central America Denis learned to have an appreciation of music from a very early age. “This sense of musicality has driven my passion as a DJ”. Denis has spent a lot of time over the past years experimenting with different styles and methods of playing music, alternating between turntables and digital DJ equipment. Currently Dennis is working with a CD DJ set allowing him to compile and blend a larger variety of music styles.

“My current trend in music styles is a blend of lounge and modern dance with a Latin fusion inspired by my childhood in Central America”. Music has grown from a hobby to a passion for Dennis, which he hopes to explore and delve deeper into over the next few years.

Dirty Mex will be one of our DJ’s at the Creative Drinks Christmas party.

Born on the wild northwest coast of Ireland, in his travels Alan Boyle has played on stages in Dublin, Rome and at the Festa della Musica in Florence.

He arrived in Brisbane clutching a damp guitar and a five-track EP, Shallow Heart recorded at Pulse Studios in Dublin shortly before digging a tunnel to the other side of the world. In 2007, in addition to playing on the Queen Street Mall stage as an emerging artist he picked up a Maton guitar as a winner of the Acoustic In The Park concert series held in the Brisbane’s Southbank Parklands, and was a finalist in a singer-songwriter showcase hosted by QPAC in the same year.
